This course offers a deep and authentic study of the meanings of the Qur’an, based on the original Sunni sources — such as Tafsir al-Tabari and Tafsir Ibn Kathir — while maintaining a clear, accessible style for modern learners.
Through this journey, you will discover how classical scholars understood the words of Allah, and how those meanings continue to illuminate our lives today.
What You’ll Learn
- Interpretation of the Qur’an by the Qur’an itself, by the Prophet’s Hadiths (peace and blessings be upon him), and by the insights of reliable scholars throughout Islamic history.
- Simple, clear explanations of the meanings of verses and key Arabic terms — even for students with limited background in Arabic.
- The historical context and background of revelation (Asbāb al-Nuzūl).
- How the verses connect to theological, linguistic, legal, and practical issues that concern Muslims in daily life.
- A thoughtful application of Qur’anic teachings to contemporary realities — both individual and societal.
- Interactive Q&A sessions, with opportunities to learn authentic Arabic vocabulary and Qur’anic eloquence in a living, dynamic way.
