🕰️ For many years, I have worked in the field of dream interpretation, during which I encountered hundreds of cases affected by magic, the evil eye, and jinn possession. From the very beginning, it was essential for me to deeply understand the nature, origins, diagnosis, and treatment of these conditions.

1️⃣ What is Magic? 🌀
Linguistically: Magic means influencing the soul by attraction.
In Islamic terms: It is the use of specific words or actions involving disbelief or calling on Satan to harm a believer’s religion or life.
How does it work? Magic is an unseen force triggered by certain words to cause unnatural harm to a person’s soul or body.
2️⃣ What is the Evil Eye? 👁️
Linguistically: The eye is the organ of sight in humans and animals.
In Islamic terms: It refers to harm that affects a person, their soul, body, or possessions because of a jealous or admiring look.
3️⃣ What is Jinn Possession? 👤
It is the connection of jinn to a human’s body, causing partial or total loss of control over oneself.
Symptoms may include seizures, hearing the jinn speaking through the person, or loss of bodily control.
4️⃣ What is the Islamic Evidence for the Existence and Harm of Magic? 📜
- Allah says:
“… but the devils disbelieve, teaching people magic…” [Quran 2:102]
- The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Whoever acquires knowledge of the stars has acquired a branch of magic…” [Hasan – Abu Dawood]
(Note: This refers to harmful astrology and magic, not astronomy.)
5️⃣ What is the Islamic Evidence for the Existence and Harm of the Evil Eye? 👁️📖
- Allah says:
“And from the evil of the envier when he envies.” [Quran 113:5]
- The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“The evil eye is real…” [Muslim]
6️⃣ What is the Islamic Evidence for the Existence and Harm of Jinn Possession? 👤📖
- Allah says:
“… only stands as one whom the devil has driven to madness by [his] touch.” [Quran 2:275]
- The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said to the jinn possessing a person:
“Come out, enemy of Allah! I am the Messenger of Allah.” [Authentic chain – Al-Albani]
