- Prophet Muhammad (SAW): Seeing the Prophet (peace be upon him) in a good and beautiful form in a dream indicates provision for a righteous Muslim, because Allah Almighty said to him (SAW) in His Noble Book:
“And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient.” [Ad-Duhaa: 8]. - Foods and Drinks: If they are lawful (halal) in the dream, desirable to the dreamer, and he/she eats them or intends to eat them, then they indicate provision, by the will of Allah. The extent of provision corresponds to the value of the food or drink in reality, whether expensive or cheap at the time of the dream. Provision was mentioned alongside feeding or food in the saying of Allah:
“I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.” [Adh-Dhaariyaat: 57];
and also:
“…Look to which is the best food and bring you provision from it…” [Al-Kahf: 19]. - Righteous Deeds: Because Allah says:
“O Messengers, eat from the good things and do righteous deeds. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing.” [Al-Mu’minoon: 51].
So every righteous or good deed that pleases Allah in a dream may indicate provision. - Gratitude to Allah: Because gratitude is linked to blessings. Allah says:
“And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you…’” [Ibraaheem: 7].
Likewise, He linked provision with gratitude in His saying:
“…Eat from the provision of your Lord and be grateful to Him…” [Saba’: 15]. - Acts of Worship: Allah says:
“…So seek provision from Allah and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned.” [Al-‘Ankaboot: 17].
Worship in a dream may indicate provision. In this verse, there is a connection between provision and worship. - Beautiful Image or Appearance: Such as seeing an image on a paper or in a mirror in which the Muslim sees himself or someone else. If the image is beautiful, it indicates good provision; because Allah combined a beautiful form with provision in His saying:
“…and formed you and perfected your forms and provided you with good things…” [Ghaafir: 64]. - Seeking Forgiveness and Repentance: Whoever sees in a dream that he/she seeks forgiveness or repents, this may indicate provision, because seeking forgiveness and repentance are causes of provision, as in Allah’s saying:
“…Seek forgiveness of your Lord and repent to Him, He will let you enjoy a good provision for a specified term and give every doer of favor his favor…” [Hood: 3].
Likewise, Allah says:
“And O my people, seek forgiveness of your Lord and repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers…” [Hood: 52]. - Zakah and Charity: Because Zakah and charity are provision for those who receive them. Seeing the taking of them in a dream is a good sign of provision. And whoever gives them in a dream, it may also be a sign of provision for him; for good deeds in dreams may return to the doer in interpretation in the same kind of action. Whoever gives charity in a dream, perhaps Allah will bless him with someone who provides for him.
- Marriage: It is provision in a dream for a man or a woman. The Messenger (SAW) said:
“…And whoever migrates to attain some worldly benefit or to marry a woman…” [Bukhari];
He combined marriage and provision in the hadith. Also, he (SAW) said:
“There are three whom Allah has an obligation to help: … the one who marries to seek chastity.” [Hasan Hadith].
He made marriage a cause for provision. And because a woman’s marriage is a cause for her provision through the dowry or other means of spending. - Small Children: If they appear as sons in the dream, they indicate provision, even if they are unknown; because Allah says:
“…We provide for you and them…” [Al-An’aam: 151].
He made parents and children linked to provision in this verse. If they are not sons in the dream, it may still indicate provision, because the Messenger (SAW) said:
“…You are only provided for and aided by the weak among you.” [Authentic Hadith].
And a child is among the weak, so seeing him in a dream may indicate provision. - Hajj: Because Allah says:
“…That they may witness benefits for themselves…” [Al-Hajj: 27]. - Rain: Because Allah says:
“…And He sent down from the sky water and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you…” [Al-Baqarah: 22]. - Blue Color: Because of the linguistic similarity between Azraq (blue) and Rizq (provision); so blue in a dream may indicate provision.
- Ownership: Because provision must be possessed by its owner. Whoever sees that he owns something beneficial, this may indicate provision.
- Seeing People Who Allah Has Blessed with Wealth: Because seeing specific people in dreams may indicate their states in interpretation.
- Childbirth: Because Allah says:
“…So the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree… And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates. So eat and drink and be contented…” [Maryam: parts of 23, 25, 26]. - Fruits: Because Allah says:
“…And brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you…” [Al-Baqarah: 22]. - Livestock: Because they are a source of food and drink, whether by slaughter or milking.
- Edible Fish: Because they are part of food.
- Supplication: Supplication in a dream for provision is answered for a righteous Muslim, by Allah’s will.
- Travel and Wealthy Lands: Because Allah says:
“…And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many [alternative] locations and abundance…” [An-Nisaa’: 100];
or due to the saying of the Messenger (SAW):
“…And whoever migrates to attain some worldly benefit…” [Bukhari]. - Safety: Safety in a dream or feeling safe may indicate provision; because Allah says:
“Who has fed them, [saving them] from hunger and made them safe, [saving them] from fear.” [Quraysh: 4].
He combined food and safety in this verse. - Iron: Because Allah says:
“…And We sent down iron, wherein is great military might and benefits for the people…” [Al-Hadeed: 25]. - One’s Workplace: Because it is a source of provision; so it may indicate provision in a dream.
- One’s Work Tools: Seeing the tools a person uses in his work may indicate provision.
- The Weak Among People: Because the Messenger (SAW) said:
“You are granted victory and provision only because of your weak ones.” [Bukhari]. - Refrigerator: Because it is a place to store foods and drinks that indicate provision in dreams.
- Wardrobe: It may appear in a dream as a symbol or representation of a money safe.
- Striking the Earth: Whoever sees in a dream that he strikes the earth with his hand or a tool or digs, this may indicate provision; because Allah says:
“…And others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah…” [Al-Muzzammil: 20]. - Lawful Hunting: Because Allah says:
“Lawful to you is game from the sea and its food…” [Al-Maa’idah: 96]. - Poverty: In some dreams, poverty may indicate provision; because Allah says:
“…My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need.” [Al-Qasas: 24]. - The Wall: Because Allah says:
“And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure…” [Al-Kahf: 82]. - Verses of Provision in the Qur’an: Seeing the reading, writing, or hearing of the noble verses that indicate provision in a dream can give glad tidings to a righteous Muslim of lawful, good provision.
- The Ruler and People of Authority and Status: Because they are responsible for public funds and their distribution. Their images may also appear on currencies… etc. So seeing them in a dream may indicate provision.
- Makkah Al-Mukarramah: Because Allah says:
“…And [mention] when Abraham said, ‘My Lord, make this a secure city and provide its people with fruits…’” [Al-Baqarah: 126]. - Walking on the Earth: Because Allah says:
“…So walk among its slopes and eat of His provision…” [Al-Mulk: 15].
He combined walking and provision in this verse. So walking in a dream may indicate provision, by Allah’s will. - Fasting for Allah: Because the Messenger (SAW) said:
“The fasting person has two joys: one at the time of breaking his fast…” [Reported by Bukhari].
Whoever fasts must break his fast, and food and drink in dreams indicate provision, by Allah’s will. - What Allah Has Made Lawful of Adornment: Because Allah says:
“Say, Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good [lawful] things of provision…” [Al-A’raaf: 32].
He combined adornment and provision. So seeing what a person uses for adornment, like clothes or jewelry, is a good sign of provision. - Bani Israa’eel: Because Allah says:
“And We certainly gave the Children of Israel the Scripture and the judgment and the prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds.” [Al-Jaathiyah: 16]. - The Table Spread with Food (Al-Maa’idah): Allah says:
“When the disciples said, ‘O Jesus, Son of Mary, can your Lord send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven?’ [Jesus] said, ‘Fear Allah, if you should be believers.’ They said, ‘We wish to eat from it and let our hearts be reassured and know that you have been truthful to us and be among its witnesses.’” [Al-Maa’idah: 112–113]. - Things Descending from the Sky:
“Say, Have you considered what Allah has sent down to you of provision…” [Yoonus: 59].
Provided that they are not harmful or dangerous. This may also include airplanes landing. - Paradise:
“…And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.” [Taa-Haa: 131].
Here provision means Paradise; thus, Paradise in interpretation is a symbol of provision.
