2. Extraordinary and unusual events
Dreams of strange and extraordinary matters—such as seeing that all people became believers, or that all of them died, or that all children suddenly turned into adults, or the sky changed into an unusual color, or walking naked among people without anyone noticing—may sometimes symbolize death.
3. Bathing (ghusl)
Dreaming of performing ghusl may symbolize a good ending for a Muslim.
4. Leading the prayer (imāmah)
If a person sees himself leading others in prayer, this may symbolize a good ending, as the deceased Muslim is placed in front of people when they perform the funeral prayer.
5. Tooth extraction
If a tooth is removed easily in a dream, it may symbolize the soul’s departure with ease for the believer. If it is difficult, it may symbolize hardship at death for the corrupt.
6. Complete shaving of the head
For someone who is not accustomed to shaving his head, such a dream may sometimes symbolize the end of life.
7. Graduation or award ceremony
A dream of graduating or receiving an award may symbolize glad tidings of a good ending for the righteous Muslim.
8. Seeing a crow
Because the crow was sent to teach Qābil how to bury his brother Hābil. Allah says: “Then Allah sent a crow scratching into the ground, to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother.” (Qur’an 5:31).
9. Ugly things descending from the sky
Such dreams may symbolize death or plagues. Allah says: “So We sent down upon those who wronged a punishment from the sky for their disobedience.” (Qur’an 2:59).
10. Witnessing the shahādah
Dreaming of saying lā ilāha illā Allāh, Muḥammad rasūl Allāh or receiving a written certificate may symbolize death upon martyrdom in the path of Allah.
11. Rest after exhaustion
Such a dream may symbolize death and a good ending for the righteous Muslim.
12. Closing a book or finishing it
A book may represent the span of a person’s life, and closing it may symbolize death.
13. Killing a believer
If someone dreams of killing a believer, it may indicate that he will die murdered. For a corrupt person, it may be a warning of a bad ending. The Prophet ﷺ said: “They Killed him, may Allah kill them.” (Hasan – narrated by Abū Dāwūd).
14. Seeing the in-law (ḥamw)
Dreaming of one’s father-in-law may sometimes symbolize death, in reference to the Prophet’s ﷺ saying: “The father–in-law is death.”
15. Dream of anger (ghayẓ)
If a corrupt person dreams of being consumed with rage, it may symbolize his death. Allah says: “Say: Die in your rage!” (Qur’an 3:119).
16. Prophet Musa striking someone
As Allah says: “So Moses struck him with his fist and killed him.” (Qur’an 28:15).
17. Divorce
A dream of divorce may sometimes symbolize death, since marriage ends with death just as it ends with divorce.
18. The sky or the earth weeping
Such a dream may symbolize the death of a righteous Muslim. Allah says: “Neither the heaven nor the earth wept for them, nor were they reprieved.” (Qur’an 44:29).
19. Dream of Sūrat al-Naṣr
Reciting or seeing Sūrat al-Naṣr in a dream may symbolize a good ending for a righteous Muslim.
