“Beautified for people is the love of desires—women… That is the enjoyment of the worldly life.” [Aal Imran: 14]

For an unmarried man, seeing an unknown woman may symbolize a future wife or an upcoming marriage opportunity.
5. Sign of the Hoor al-‘Ayn (Heavenly Maidens)
Beautiful unknown women may symbolize the Hoor al-‘Ayn of Paradise.
Allah says:
“And with them will be companions with beautiful, large eyes… like preserved pearls.” [Al-Waqi‘ah: 22–24]
6. Symbol of Temptation or Harm
- A beautiful woman may symbolize worldly temptations or the trial of women.
- An ugly woman may symbolize harm, worry, or hardship.
This is confirmed by the Prophet’s saying:
“I have not left any trial more harmful to men than women.” [Agreed upon]
7. Symbol of the Weak, the Oppressed, or the Dependent
An unknown woman may symbolize weakness, oppression, suffering, or those who depend on others for support.
Supported by verses such as:
“Men are protectors and maintainers of women…” [An-Nisa’: 34]
and
“But men have a degree over them.” [Al-Baqarah: 228]
8. Symbol of a House, Home, or Country
A woman may symbolize a home—because the husband finds tranquility in her.
Allah says:
“He created you from a single soul and made from it its spouse so that he may find tranquility in her.” [Al-A‘raf: 189]
Likewise, she may symbolize a land or nation due to the temporary “dwelling” analogy.
9. Symbol of Envy, Jealousy, or an Enemy (in Women’s Dreams)
For a female dreamer, an unknown woman may symbolize an enemy—human or jinn—or someone envious or jealous, especially if the dream figure shows anger or negative signs.
This reflects common emotional tensions among women in reality.

The woman may symbolize concepts linked to the Arabic root of mar’a, such as:
- Showing off (riyaa’)
- Pointless argumentation (miraa’)

“A woman advances in the image of a devil and withdraws in the image of a devil.” [Muslim]
13. Symbol of Testimony—Complete or Incomplete
- One woman may symbolize incomplete testimony.
- Two women may symbolize a complete and valid testimony.
- Two women may even represent a wise man, while one woman may represent a man lacking wisdom.
Based on the verse:
“And bring two witnesses from among your men… and if not two men, then a man and two women…” [Al-Baqarah: 282]

A woman may symbolize children or descendants because she carries, nurtures, and raises them.
15. Symbol of Tranquility and Comfort
A woman may symbolize ease, gentleness, and relief in matters that are otherwise difficult.
The Prophet said:
“Be gentle with the fragile vessels.” [Agreed upon]
16. Symbol of Feminine Traits in a Man
Seeing an unknown woman may symbolize a man behaving like women or possessing feminine qualities.
17. Symbol of Maturity or Youthfulness for Women
For a young woman, seeing an unknown woman may symbolize growth, maturity, or mental clarity.
For an elderly woman, it may indicate youthful behavior, energy, or renewed health.
18. Symbol of Death for the Elderly
A young unknown woman may symbolize death, particularly for those advanced in age or near the end of their lives.
