In the world of dreams, there are certain symbols that may point to being affected by the evil eye or envy (hasad). Below are the most common signs and their possible meanings:

• The Eye Itself: Whether it appears as a human eye, an animal eye, or even a drawn image, this is one of the clearest symbols of the evil eye.
• Death, Dead People, or Graves: Based on the saying of the Prophet (saw):
  “The evil eye puts a man in his grave and a camel in the pot.” [Sahih al-Jami‘]
• Hateful Stares: Seeing people or animals looking at you with strange, envious, or hostile gazes.
• Wells, Drains, or Pits: Because the brothers of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) threw him into a well out of envy, and because these places are hollow, circular, and often dirty—similar to the eye in form.
• Circular Objects: Such as rings, loops, or round shapes resembling an eye.
• Holes and Needles: Because holes resemble the shape of an eye and relate to penetration or piercing.
• Damage, Loss, or Broken Objects: Including wounds, injuries, illnesses, weakness, fatigue, or accidents—since the evil eye can cause harm and destruction.
• A Spring or Water Source: Especially if the water is dirty or stagnant.
• A Spy: Since the Arabic term for a spy is “Ayn” (eye).
• Thieves or Robbery: Because a thief steals possessions just as an envious person seeks to strip blessings away.
• Electricity or Radiation: Invisible forces with harmful effects—similar to the unseen impact of the evil eye.
• A Camera or Photograph: Due to the lens, which resembles an eye.
• Glasses, Telescopes, Microscopes, or Door Peepholes: All relate to vision and observation.
• Jews and Christians: As Allah says:
  “Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves…” [Qur’an 2:109]
• Publicizing or Showing Off Blessings: Especially if no mention of Allah is made, based on the Prophet’s (saw) advice:
  “Seek help in the fulfillment of your needs by keeping them secret, for every person who is blessed is envied.” [Sahih al-Jami‘]
• Reading Qur’an or Verses About Envy: Such as Surah Al-Falaq or other verses addressing hasad.
• Fire or Burning Objects: Like burning wood, flammable materials, volcanoes, or lava—based on the narration:
  “Envy consumes good deeds just as fire consumes wood.” (Though this hadith is weak, the meaning is widely known).
• Eye Diseases: Seeing eye infections or injuries.
• Jinn or Devils: Since they can play a role in causing harm through envy or the evil eye.
• Sharp Weapons: Such as swords, arrows, knives, bullets, or missiles—because they strike their target like the eye’s harmful glance.
• Shooting Stars or Meteors: As they fall quickly and strike with force.
• Women Seeing Women: Because envy is often more common among many of them in real life.
• Accidents or Physical Harm: Such as falling, breaking a bone, or injuries.
• Camel Meat in a Pot: Based on the hadith:
  “The evil eye puts a man in his grave and a camel in the pot.” [Sahih al-Jami‘]
• Seeing Those Less Fortunate Than You: Since envy is more likely to come from those who lack certain blessings.
• The Arabic Letter ‘Ayn’ (ع): Appearing prominently in the dream may be symbolic.
