Is It True That Crying in a Dream Indicates Joy?

Crying is one of the most common symbols and events in the world of dreams.

The nature of crying in dreams can vary greatly. Sometimes it is intense, sometimes weak; it may occur audibly or silently. In some cases, the feeling of tears is so strong that the dreamer wakes up and finds real tears in their eyes.

In certain dreams, crying can symbolize remorse, repentance, or a warning of divine punishment for those who are reluctant to turn back to God, especially if the dreamer has a history of sins and the context of the dream supports this meaning.

However, in other cases, crying may occur because of injustice or harm inflicted upon the dreamer without any fault of their own.

In such cases, interpreters do not explain the crying as a sign of remorse or repentance, because this meaning would not fit the context. Instead, the interpretation is reversed: crying can actually indicate joy or relief.

The reason behind this is that true dreams come from Allah, and they often bring good news to the believer, such as the easing of difficulties or the removal of oppression. Therefore, in these cases, the meaning of tears is expressed in reverse to align with divine wisdom. It is also worth noting that in reality, joy is sometimes expressed through tears as well.

This principle of interpreting dreams through opposites is a well-established method with deep roots in Islamic scholarship. It has numerous applications, which you can explore further in my articles on the website or by enrolling in my valuable course on dream interpretation.
