Dreams Indicating the Acceptance of Supplication (Du‘a)

Dream of Du‘a
Seeing oneself making du‘a for oneself or for others in a dream, or seeing someone making du‘a for the dreamer, is a sign of accepted supplication, in shā’ Allāh. This is based on Allah’s words:
“And your Lord says, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’” (Qur’an 40:60)

Dream of Parents’ Supplication
A dream of one’s parents making du‘a for their child is an indication of accepted supplication, as their prayers for their children are answered.

Dream of the Adhān or Iqāmah
Seeing the call to prayer (adhān) or the iqāmah in a dream may indicate answered supplication, for it was narrated from the Prophet ﷺ:
“Seek the response to du‘a when the armies meet, at the time of the iqāmah, and when rain falls.” [Authentic – al-Silsilah al-Sahīhah]
He ﷺ also said: “Two supplications are never rejected: du‘a at the time of the call to prayer, and under the rain.” [Sahih al-Jāmi‘ al-Saghīr]

Dream of Rain
Seeing beneficial rain (not harmful) in a dream can be a sign of accepted du‘a, in light of the above hadith.

Dream of the Believers’ Meeting the Disbelievers in battle
This dream may symbolize answered supplication, as mentioned in the hadith regarding du‘a during this moment.

Dream of Receiving a Gift
A beautiful or unknown gift in a dream may indicate that one’s du‘a will be answered.

Dream of a Prize or Reward
Seeing oneself receiving a prize or reward may symbolize the acceptance of one’s supplication.

Dream of Breaking the Fast
A dream of breaking one’s fast may give glad tidings of accepted du‘a, based on the Prophet’s ﷺ words:
“Three supplications are never rejected: the supplication of a just ruler, the supplication of a fasting person at the time of breaking the fast, and the supplication of the oppressed. It is raised above the clouds, the gates of heaven are opened for it, and the Lord Almighty says: ‘By My Might, I will surely help you, even if after some time.’” [Sahih – al-Tirmidhi]

Dream of a Clear Sky
Since accepted du‘a is raised above the clouds to the heavens, seeing a clear sky may symbolize answered supplication.

Dream of a Just Ruler
Seeing a Muslim ruler known for justice and piety making du‘a may indicate acceptance of one’s supplication, in line with the aforementioned hadith.

Dream of the Oppressed Making Du‘a

Dream of the Prophet ﷺ
Seeing the Prophet ﷺ in a good form, or him giving something blessed, or making du‘a for the dreamer, is a sign of accepted supplication, in shā’ Allāh, as the Prophet ﷺ’s supplications are always answered.

Dream of the Prophets
Seeing one of the Prophets (peace be upon them) in a good form, or making du‘a for the dreamer, may indicate answered supplication, as the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Every Prophet had one supplication that was answered.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Dreams of Victory and Joy by Allah’s Grace
Such dreams may symbolize acceptance of supplication, as they represent Allah’s support and blessings.

Dream of Halal Food or Drink
Seeing oneself eating lawful food earned from halal means may indicate acceptance of du‘a, based on the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ:
“A man who travels long, disheveled and dusty, raising his hands to the sky, saying: ‘O Lord, O Lord’ – while his food is unlawful, his drink unlawful, his clothing unlawful, and he is nourished unlawfully, so how can his supplication be answered?” [Muslim]

Dream of Receiving an Answer to a Question
If one asks a question in a dream and receives a clear answer, it may symbolize acceptance of du‘a, in shā’ Allāh.

Dream of Approval of a Request
Submitting a request in a dream and having it approved, especially if it concerns something lawful and good, may indicate answered supplication.

Dream of Ease or Fulfillment of Needs
If one sees ease or the fulfillment of needs in a righteous and beneficial way, this may be a sign of accepted supplication.

Dream of the Deceased
Seeing a deceased Muslim, especially a righteous one, may indicate acceptance of du‘a. This relates to the story of Prophet Musa (peace be upon him), who supplicated for his people killed by the thunderbolt, and Allah brought them back to life in response to his supplication.

Dream of Eid
Seeing the day of Eid in a dream may symbolize acceptance of supplication.

Dream of Friday
Since there is an hour on Friday when du‘a is answered, seeing Friday in a dream may indicate accepted supplication.

Dream of Hajj or ‘Umrah
Based on the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ:
“The warrior in the path of Allah, the pilgrim performing Hajj, and the one performing ‘Umrah are the guests of Allah. He invited them, and they responded; they asked of Him, and He gave them.” [Authentic Hadith]
